Grant Career Center Students Shine at State Educators Rising Competition

This week, Grant Career Center Instructors Jena Tieman, Kristin Baumgartner, and Chantsey Carter took 19 students to the Ed Rising State Competition at Capital University. We had five students (two teams) who qualified to compete at the National level in Orlando, FL: Alexis Adams, Shanoah Pierce, Miah Collins, Bianca Arnett, and Savannah Metzger. Please help us congratulate all of our students on their hard work!

This week, 19 students from the Grant Early Childhood Education Program traveled to Capital University to compete in the state Educators Rising Competition. The event was an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their skills, connect with educators, and compete among the best in Ohio.

During the Opening Ceremony, Grant Career Center was honored with an Honor Chapter Award, recognizing the dedication and excellence of our students and staff.

Throughout the competition, students delivered impressive presentations before a panel of judges, highlighting their hard work and commitment to education. While some students competed, others attended breakout sessions, gaining valuable insights from educational professionals and industry leaders.

On Thursday, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Ohio Teacher of the Year Danee Pickney and Keynote Speaker Corwyn Collier, who shared inspiring messages about leadership and perseverance. Students also explored the beautiful Capital University campus before concluding their experience with the highly anticipated awards ceremony.

Several of our students earned top honors:

  • Alexis Adams, Miah Collins, and Shanoah Pierce placed in the Top 10 with their Inside Our Schools Project.

  • Bianca Arnett and Savannah Metzger received a silver medal for their Project Visualize Project, Empowering Education Project.

Both teams have qualified for the National Conference in Orlando, FL, in June, where they will represent Grant Career Center on the national stage.

Congratulations to all of our students who competed this week! Your hard work and dedication continue to make Grant Career Center proud. We look forward to seeing our national qualifiers excel in Orlando this summer!aaaaaaaaaaa
