PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN (CPT)
Phlebotomy technicians draw blood for testing in hospitals, clinical labs, doctor's offices, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities. They may also explain the procedure to the patient, or reassure them if adverse reactions occur. Students will receive training with a venipuncture arm, as well as practical, live training before testing for CPT certification through a nationally recognized organization.

STATE TESTED NURSING ASSISTANT (STNA/NATP)
STNAs are in high demand! These employees may work in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in a client's home, in addition to other medical environments. They often work under the direction of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses.
STNAs perform such duties as: bathing patients, changing linens and gowns, helping with personal and bathroom needs, and assisting a patient with eating and drinking when needed. They also may help with transporting patients and gait instability, in addition to observing their overall well-being. Other duties may include taking, recording, and monitoring patient vital signs, and assisting nurses with wound cleaning and dressings. STNAs are not permitted to dispense medication or perform medical procedures.
Program Length: 76 hours
Ohio state licensing testing is conducted on campus soon after the program is completed. Payment options may be available.

CERTIFIED CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT - (CCMA) 300 HOURS
The Clinical Medical Assisting program is designed to prepare students to function as professionals in multiple healthcare settings. Medical assistants with a clinical background perform various clinical tasks including assisting with the administration of medications and with minor procedures, performing an EKG electrocardiogram, obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, educating patients, and other related tasks. Job opportunities are prevalent with physician’s offices, clinics, chiropractor’s offices, hospitals and outpatient facilities.
Program Length: 140 hours classroom/160 clinical hours

BROWN COUNTY PRACTICAL NURSING EDUCATION PROGRAM

DENTAL ASSISTANT
Dental Assistant students will learn Introduction to the Profession, Ethical & Legal Issues, Infection Control, Dental Radiography, Human Dentition, Dental Terminology, Tissue Surrounding Teeth, Dental Materials, Oral Pathology, Endodontics, Topical & Local Anesthesia, Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office. The objectives of the class will be to learn how to Pass instruments & supplies, Properly use suction devices to keep mouth clear & dry, Set-up procedures & instrument sterilization, Prepare dental charts, Take & develop X-rays, Obtain medical history on patients and Provide instructions on preventative dentistry & oral care.
Certifications will include: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), American Medical Technologists Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and Ohio State Dental Board Radiographer's Certificate, in-house training, approved sponsor of the Ohio Dental Board

High School Diploma or GED except for STNA and Phlebotomy - must be at least 17. Adult Diploma Program students are exempt from this requirement.
Completion of online registration form
A $200 deposit (non-refundable) or proof of funding from 3rd-party source in order to take WorkKeys.
Successful passage of WorkKeys Assessments in Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Applied Math
Background Check (varies by clinical site)
